CLICK CLICK SNAP

The first thing that caught attention was the décor that mirrored college’s theme for the year – Go catch a rainbow. And when there is so much colour all around it’s understood that the students chose to turn every prop and decoration into selfie post.

The girls were seen posing as their friends clicked them and even the cultural team decided to pose with the banner

STREET PLAY FOR THE WIN

While all 3 days were packed with over 28 activities including music, dance and theatre, it was the street play competition that won the hearts of the students with powerful acting performances, great script and theme that included social issues.

INFLUENCING ON POINT

Fest season always doubles up as the time to bring out your fashion best and well with the new crop of fashion influencers popping in the campus, it also serves as a great time to build posts. One could easily spot Girls posing the pictures and later instagraming it.

A NIGHT LIT WITH STARS AND PARTY SONGS

No fest is complete without a rocking star performance and being the first fest of the season there was a lot riding on the star night of JDMC.

Singer Aditi Singh Sharma, known for songs like ‘Dhoom Machale‘ from ‘Dhoom 3‘, ‘Offo’ from ‘2 States‘ and more, performed on the last day of the fest at college’s jam-packed amphitheatre. With the students screaming Aditi’s name and requesting songs, the singer took them on a musical journey as she concluded the fest.

The singer, who began her performance with ‘Dhoom Machale’, said, “You guys are lovely, thank you for calling us here,” she said before crooning songs like ‘Dilli Dilli’, ‘Pehla Nasha‘ and ‘Suit Suit’. It wasn’t just students who were having fun at the fest, Principal Swati Pal was also seen dancing with the students and faculty. “Meri toh shaam bann gayi kyunki principal ma’am bhi dance kar rahi hain,” she said.

Before concluding her performance, she added, “You guys are such a great audience. I think all the artistes should come and perform at JDMC once.”

The students had a gala time singing and dancing with the singer, and also welcomed the change that a female artiste performed at the college. In the last few years, artistes like Guru Randhawa, Indeep Bakshi have performed at the fest, so when a female singer performed, it was a good change for many. Shubhangi Seth, President, Students’ Union, said, “This year, the rock show was really good. It was also new for us because it had a female artiste this time.”

To conclude, the principal reminded the students that she would like to see the same attendance in classrooms as well. “I haven’t seen this much excitement in the college for a long time now. I hope it will be the same next week as well (referring to classes),” she said.
