Rollback of Credit System sought by DU Students

Students of the School of Open Learning, Delhi University, protested outside the office of the Ministry of Human Resource Development on Monday. They are demanding the rollback of the Choice Based Credit System, which they said was implemented hastily. The students were protesting under the banner of Krantikari Yuva Sangathan. The CBCS, which is already in place in for DU’s regular courses, was introduced for correspondence courses this year. However, students said that the SOL administration had implemented the system hastily.

“Many of the students do not know the syllabus and the teachers are also unsure. Exams are due next month but many of us have not received any study material. The lack of infrastructure and teaching support will lead to mass failure. It is criminal on the part of the university administration to play with the future of around 1.5 lakh students,” stated the KYS. The students have demanded immediate intervention of the MHRD.
