The polls to the Delhi University Students' Union will see a woman candidate fighting for the president post from the Congress-backed NSUI after a gap of 11 years while its rival ABVP had last fielded a woman candidate in 2011. Out of the 12 candidates in fray, there are only four women in contention. National Student's Union of India's Chetna Tyagi will take on Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's Akshit Dahiya and Left-backed All India Students' Association's Damini Kain for the post of president. After last year's big embarrassment when DU had to suspend it's presidential candidate due to submission of forged documents, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has decided to be extra careful this time. It has shortlisted only University of Delhi (DU) graduates as its candidates for the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections, 2019. The RSS' students' wing will also keep the original documents of the candidates for scrutiny to make sure they are authentic. Days after the DU administration had asked the ABVP to remove the bust of VD Savarkar, Bhagat and Subhas Chandra Bose installed at DU's Arts faculty, Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) president Shakti Singh has removed the busts at around 2am on Saturday. The busts of VD Savarkar, Bhagat Singh and Subhas Chandra Bose, was installed at DU's Arts Faculty on August 20. ABVP claimed that the busts were removed after the "DU administration gave assurance to ABVP that after DUSU elections, busts of freedom fighters will be re-installed following the procedure required." Most awaited time for Delhi University students who love politics has come. Delhi University's Student Elections are held on September 12, 2019. The nomination forms along with demand draft of ₹500 will be accepted till 3:00 pm on September 4. Documents related to DUSU will be on varsity's and college's website. Nomination forms can also be downloaded from DU's official website.  Voting for morning college will be done from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm for evening colleges, date, time, venue will be announced by the varsity later. EVMs for College Students Union Election and DUSU election will be different.

Congress-backed NSUI and RSS affiliated ABVP hit out at the principal of Delhi University's Vivekananda College on Wednesday for issuing a notice asking students not to attend any political rallies. According to the notice apparently issued by principal  Hina Nandrajog, the notice read as that  disciplinary action will be taken against any student seen taking part in any political rally by the college. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABP) demanded that the notice to be withdrawn. The college administration should withdraw this anti-student decision soon.
