The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) dominated the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections as it won three of the four seats, while the Congress-affiliated National Students' Union of India (NSUI) bagged one. Celebrations broke out outside the counting centre in Kingsway Camp with supporters dancing to 'dhol' beats and rose petals being showered on the winners. The winners wearing garlands proceeded to the varsity's Arts Faculty, from where they will take out a victory march. ABVP's Ashwit Dahiya defeated NSUI candidate Chetna Tyagi for the top post by a margin of over 19,000 votes. One of the biggest elections in Delhi, DUSU elections has taken place on Thursday. Polling was done at 52 different centres from morning 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on 12 sept. Total voter's turnout was 39.90% out of 1.3 lakh voters. There were some EVM malfunctions too but they were corrected within a short span of time. he results were declared on 13 sept and Akshit Dahiya from ABVP is the new DUSU president.

The counting of votes will be conducted on September 13 at the Community Hall at the Police Lines in Delhi's Kingsway Camp, a day after the elections.
