Delhi universities officials said that it is the first time that a mother-daughter duo completed PhD together. Mother, Mala Dutta, 56 years old successfully achieved her dream of receiving a PhD degree, after 34 years she left her college. Her daughter, Shreya Mishra, 28 years old was with her to pick up both their degrees. Officials of the Delhi University said that there were many cases like this at post-graduation level, but this is the first time a mother daughter duo completed their doctorate programme together from the institution. They were not able to attend the convocation that held last year because it was next to the day after Shreya’s wedding. Campus Bird Count recently conducted by students, is a sub-event of the annual Great Backyard Bird Count. It is a coordinated effort to document life of birds in multiple campuses across India. Including educational and training institutions, government institutions research stations, corporate campuses etc. It is a great way to get people interested in the rich diversity of birds in their surroundings. With around 50 winged visitors spotted in several DU colleges and complexes. The event was held on February 15,16,17 and 18 across the country at the same time. 30 New courses to be introduced by Delhi University

Academic council (AC) University of Delhi has decided to introduce 30 new courses, at both under graduation and post-graduation level, in around 20 colleges. An approval for increasing seats to 232 seats in existing courses in two colleges. As it is a dream of every student to get admission into Delhi University, now they will have more opportunities to courses areas in the coming academic session 2019. This decision was taken by the academic council last week at its meeting. According to the council sources, these list of courses were first passed to the standing committee of the University for Academic Affairs of university in September, 2018. The Lal Bagh slum in Azadpur , Delhi is accompanied with poor access to drinking water alongside all it’s other problems. Delhi Jal Board never seemed to or rarely arrive in the locality. The water supply system there is completely destructed. The MCD water that is dispensed from household domestic taps stings badly and is of terribly bad taste. No action was being taken and none of the political promises persist after elections are done. For their sake, SRCC students identified areas where the drinking water provided to people was contaminated with high levels of total dissolved solids.
